LEADER Hon. Manzoor Nadir M.P.

Born Nov.14 1955. The Current Minister of Tourism Industry and Commerce, Mr. Nadir holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Masters Degree in Economics. Leader since April 1991, he was a president of the youth arm and a former member of the UG Council. He was elected to Parliament in 1992 and is now completing 14th year as an MP. Twenty six years as member of the United Force and was a candidate in the 1980, 1985, 1992,1997, 2001 elections.

 
   

DEPUTY LEADER Michael Anthony Abraham

A founder member of the GUYS, Mr. Abraham
Served in Parliament from 1974 to 1992. He is a former Headmaster and insurance salesperson. An Amerindian leader, he currently works in the AIDS programme.

 
   
CHAIRMAN Ishmail Muhamed

Former member of the police elite unit, he is a security specialist, a business person and a religious and community leader. Ishmail joined the party in 1997 and was responsible for the Campaign in Region 2. He was elected Chairman in August 2001.

 
   
VICE CHAIRMAN Errol Van Nooten

Errol VanNooten is a veteran of the United States Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart medal for wounds received in Vietnam. After the army, he attended various universities where he was awarded a Master of Science degree in Criminology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Science and an Associate of Science degree.

During Mr. VanNooten’s career, he has served in numerous highly specialized investigative positions, including as a special agent while he was employed by the government of the United States. His last position was that of Inspector General of the New York City Department of Investigation.

He has received specialized training in numerous investigative skills from the FBI and other international organizations.

1) He served as an advisor on crime and security for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.
2) A member of the National Crime consultation Committee
3) A member of the 2001 Jail – Break Commission.
4) Chairman of the Investigation Committee on Camp Jaguar Disaster
5) Chief Investigator on the matter of the 2005 CXC breach
6) Chairman of the Investigative Committee on the Tain Riot / Uprising
7) Member of the National Commission on Law and Order

 
   
EXECUTIVE MEMBER (Coordinator) Region Nine Maucir Baretto

Former Regional Chairman for Region Nine, Mr. Baretto is QC graduate. He was best graduating student in community development – Moscow. Joined the Campaign in 1985. Elected to the Executive from 1991.

 
   
EXECUTIVE MEMBER Murtland Williams (Slugger)

Member of the Executive since 1994. A founder member of the Party, bodyguard to the late Peter D’Aguiar. Mr. Williams is a prolific writer in the newspapers.

Community activist and community and NGO leader, Lilly is completing 15 years with the Party and three elections.

Former Executive of the Public Transportation Association, Mr. Shaw has been with the party for ten years and has been an executive for seven years.

Overseas Executive Andrew Ramcharan

A former President of the Guyana United Youths Society (GUYS) and now a member in North America, Andrew Ramcharan has over 7 years of experience in the mining industry. Mr. Ramcharan is responsible for project management and execution of 3D geologic modeling, resource/reserve estimates, 3D mine planning and design, production scheduling, and capital and operating cost estimation in support of resource evaluations for due diligence, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies. Andrew has accumulated experience in both precious metals and industrial minerals sectors of the industry worldwide.

Andrew has worked in many phases of precious metals exploration and evaluation, responsible for exploration target generation, submittal evaluation, and project management and development. Mr Ramcharan has started up a few mines in Canada and South America. Andrew has designed and modeled the world’s largest Neutrino Laboratory for the state of South Dakota in 3D to be constructed at the Homestake mine.

Andrew holds a Masters Degree in Mining Engineering and a Diploma in Computer Science and is currently working towards a Doctoral Degree in Mining Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.

Andrew joined the Guyana United Youth Society (GUYS) TUF youth arm in 1987 and was its president between 1991 to 1997. He is currently with the North American executive
